The Summer Picnic and Prom in the Park

The Summer Picnic and Prom in the Park was held on 26 July 2010 at Southfleet Village Hall. The idea was to have a music concert at which all the village could come along and enjoy themselves, with a picnic on a Summer evening with good music.

We provided a barbecue with sausage rolls, a bar and a pudding stall for those who did not want to bring their own or who had run out.

A Capacity Crowd attended the Prom in the Park

The evening started with a short performance by Jonathan Youseman on the piano, followed by some items from Sedley's Church of England Primary School Choir (which is our local school) and the St Nicholas Church Choir.

The Crowd joined in the singingThe band played and everyone joined in later with 'Jerusalem' and 'Land of Hope and Glory', waving the National Flags and revelling in the Summer sunshine.

Some people made a real party of it and dressed up while others focussed more on the picnic aspect.

A great time was had by all. Presentation to Sue for all her hard work

Being Armed Forces Day on 26 June we closed the evening with the evening hymn and Last Post as a tribute to the gallant men and women in our Service.

The event was organised by churchwarden Sue O'Connor who put together a team that really worked hard to present a memorable evening that many have asked to be repeated.
